The Panthers have not won in Clarksville since 1998.
The Governors had three players score in double-figures, led by senior guard Wes Channels, who had a game-high 20 points. He hit three three-point field goals as Austin Peay built a 10-point halftime lead it would never relinquish.
The Governors built their lead to as many as 16 points before the Panthers cut the lead to six with just over six minutes remaining.
But Austin Peay answered back with six unanswered points to put the game away for good.
Junior guard Tyler Laser was the only Eastern player to score in double-figures, finishing with 14 points. Junior guard Curry McKinney contributed with seven points off the bench.
Austin Peay was able to build its halftime lead with a 10-2 run early in the second half. The Panthers went on a four-minute scoring drought during that time.
Eastern started hot from the field, holding the lead early in the first half. But over the next 10 minutes they connected on just one field goal as Austin Peay went on a 13-4 run to take the lead for good.
Three players for the Goveners reached double digets including senior gaurd Wes Channels, sophomore center John Fraley and sophomore guard Anthony Campbell. Channels led all scorers with 20 points and also added four rebounds.The Panthers return home from a two-game road trip and will step back outside of Ohio Valley Conference play. They host Western Michigan at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Lantz Arena.
