The symphony also played an "Armed Forces Salute" that encouraged the veterans to stand as they heard the anthem to the particular force they served in.

The Wind Symphony was able to honor the veterans with their performance, while getting them involved. There were members from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. National Guard, and the U.S. Coast Guard present in the audience.

The service sorority, Tau Beta Sigma, helped with the production. Becki Jungman, a Tau Beta Sigma member and a senior kinesiology and sports studies major, was one of the workers walking around at the event.

"We wanted to help with this event because it is a great way to recognize the heroes that have fought for our country thus far," Jungman said.

Milton Allen conducted the Wind Symphony with Christopher Jones as a guest conductor.

The performance received positive feedback and a roar of applause, especially during one of the final pieces where Douglas MacArthur's phrase "Duty, Honor, Country" was displayed on the projection screen.
