Campus Briefs: H1N1 facts presented

Eastern's University Professionals of Illinois chapter will present "H1N1: Facts versus Fears" at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Lumpkin Auditorium (Room 2030).

Sheila Simons, associate professor of health studies and chair of UPI's health and safety committee, will be joined in her presentation by Sheila Baker, medical director of Health Service, and Lynette Drake, director of Health Service.

This event is free and open to Eastern students, faculty and staff, and the public.

Square sidewalk sale
Businesses in downtown Charleston are holding a "Sidewalk Sale on the Square" at 10 a.m. Saturday. Several of the Square's businesses will be involved, including N-Style, Lincoln Book Shop, Vinyl Tap, Giraffe, Swanson Jewelers, Baby's Market and others.

Students lend a hand
About 500 to 600 Eastern students will volunteer at the Special Olympics Family Festival Saturday on the grounds of Lake Land College in Mattoon. The festival is not open to the public. Only those who register as an event volunteer can participate, and all volunteers must be 16 or older.
