Amtrak service modified starting next week

Students planning to take Amtrak Train 391, the southbound Saluki, next week may be diverted to motorcoach buses.
The train will terminate at Effingham, missing stops at Centralia, Du Quoin and Carbondale from May 4 to 8, May 11 to 15 and May 18 to 20, according to an Amtrak work advisory. Tracks will be closed during railroad tie installation.
Motorcoach service will be provided for travel for Carbondale travelers only.
No alternate travel will be available to or from Centralia or Du Quoin.
Amtrak Train 391, the northbound Illini, will originate in Effingham during the work.
Motorcoach service will be provided in Carbondale to transport passengers to Effingham.
Alternate travel will also not be available to or from Centralia or Du Quoin on the northbound train.
