The Eastern women's basketball senior forward hired agent Tom Cross last week, who, not coincidentally, is also Panthers head coach Brady Sallee's agent.
Galligan said the fact that he is Sallee's agent made her confident in selecting him, but Sallee said all he did was give her Cross' contact information.
"I've known him for a long time, and he represents a lot of kids so all I did was really give her his information," Sallee said. "She kind of took the ball and ran with it. I just told her to pick someone she was comfortable with and once you do, let him go to work and that's what she did."
Galligan said speaking to Cross made her confident that he would be able to find a team for her overseas.
She said he represents women basketball players in Spain, France, Italy, Russia and Israel.
Cross sent out highlight tapes to a number of teams overseas, and Galligan said she will have a better idea of where she could be headed by mid-May or early June.
Sallee said there would likely be no concern over if she were able to get signed.
"I honestly don't think it's a matter of it, but when," he said. "She'll get over there. (Cross) will get her in a good situation and the rest will be up to her. That's all you can ask."
Carpenter will remain with team, only as manager
Sophomore guard Jerika Carpenter is no longer a member of the women's basketball team, Sallee said Tuesday.
Carpenter will remain with the Panthers as a team manager, but will no longer be part of the team's active roster.
She played in three games as a sophomore, averaging 1.7 minutes per game and did not score.
As a freshman, she played three games and averaged two points her game in 17 minutes of action.
Sallee would not comment on the reason Carpenter is no longer on the team.
