Campus Briefs: Asian Heritage Month events continue

The symposium, 'Crossing in North Korea', will feature three panelists: Young Hoon Kim, Jin Heon Jung and Jinhee Lee. The event starts at 3 p.m. today in the Effingham Room of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.
The film "Seoul Train" will be shown as part of Asian Heritage Month at 5 p.m. today in the Effingham Room.
Both events are free.
Energy center design to be presented
President Bill Perry will present the updated design of the proposed Renewable Energy Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Rotary Room of the Charleston Carnegie Public Library, 712 Sixth St.
The meeting will include a report on the status of the project. The new design for the Renewable Energy Center was created after receiving community input at public meetings earlier this year. Plans call for the Renewable Energy Center to be built near the intersection of 18th Street and Edgar Drive.
Jazz ensemble to present spring concert
The EIU Jazz Ensemble will perform traditional and contemporary pieces at their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in The Theatre in the Doudna Fine Arts Center.
The band released its first CD, 'Eastern Time Zone,' in 1994, and its latest recording is 'In The Pocket.'
Tickets are $5, $3 for students.
