Men's Tennis: Panthers lose to Salukis in singles play

The Eastern men's tennis team lost its final match of the regular season to Southern Illinois Carbondale 6-0.
The matches were moved to Sports Blast, an indoor facility, due to weather and only featured singles play.
At No. 1 singles, Eastern junior Jeff Rutherford lost in straight sets, 3-6, 4-6, while at No. 2 singles play, Eastern senior Vuk Milicevic lost in three sets 5-7,6-4 and 6-7.
Eastern freshman Matyas Hilgert lost in straight sets at No. 3 singles, while fellow freshman Jamie Firth lost at No. 4 singles.
Eastern freshman Drew Grimaldi lost in three sets 1-6, 6-2 and 4-10 at No. 5 singles. Eastern sophomore Vance Davis lost at No. 6 singles.
The Panthers (10-12) will play next in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
The Panthers, a No. 6 seed, play No. 3 seed Tennessee Tech at 2 p.m. Friday in Paducah, Ky.
