Elections held for 4 positions today

Polls for the city election will close at 7 p.m. today after opening to voters at 6 a.m.
Eastern students living on campus can vote at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union or at the Newman Catholic Center, 500 Roosevelt Ave. The election includes races for city mayor, two seats on the city council and one seat on the Charleston school board.
In the mayoral race, voters will choose between incumbent John Inyart and write-in challenger Troy Richey.
Voters will also choose two city council members to fill the seats now held by Jim Dunn, who is running for re-election, and Lorelei Sims, who is not.
Besides incumbent Dunn, who is completing his third term, five candidates are running for the seats: Jim East, Mike Goble, Tim Newell, Ryan Siegel and write-in candidate Matthew Hutti.
Voters will also elect a new member of the Charleston school board.
The candidates running for the school board seat are Joe Gisondi, Mark Heise, Tim Hutti and Jack Moore.
