Interactive: Preparing for the Mr. EIU / Ms. EIU Fitness competition

On March 7, 12 students will be competing in the Mr. / Ms. EIU Fitness competition, a bodybuilding contest where two students will be pronounced Eastern's most fit.

Competitors have been training for months by dieting and exercising daily in hopes of grabbing the title. Check out our multimedia package to see how these students got in the best shape of their lives.

The show will be at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

I was under the influenece that EIU does not condone steroid use. Mr. EIU was meant to be a natural show. There are two competitors that are anything but natural and it is quite pronounced. (Continued…)

Agreed,

I believe this is a great event, but the obvious use of anabolic agents by several competitors this year may be discouraging to responsible, natural bodybuilders on campus. (Continued…)

Natural Lifter,

I've never used steroids and have a few stretch marks (very small) because I've put on 15-20 lbs of muscle in the past year. Don't be jealous because you have no MASS! Maybe Mike Leon if you put on a little body fat you will be able to put on mass, instead of staying at 7% bf all year round. (Continued…)

Yeah i agree that acne doesnt mean that you are using steroids. Myself and my two brothers have had bad back acne and face acne since we hit puberty. (Continued…)

Mr. EIU/Miss Fitness is usually takes place in early March. The official date usually isn't set until the end of fall.

I find it hard to believe Chester really wrote that comment. I remember him having more sportsmanship than that.

I could care less about mass. According to head judge Chad Graham, I beat out heavyweight Austin Signor in the finals, who had over 60 pounds more "mass" than me. (Continued…)
