The Eastern men's tennis team lost 6-1 to Jacksonville State Wednesday at Samford's campus in Birmingham, Ala.

Freshman Drew Grimaldi picked up the lone singles win at No. 6 singles.

The Panthers (7-8, 0-3 Ohio Valley Conference) picked up a win at No. 1 doubles, but failed to pick up the doubles point.

Seniors Vuc Milicevic and Jordan Nestrud defeated JSU's nationally ranked doubles team. They won 9-7 against the No. 74 ranked doubles team of senior Scott Robertson and junior Eduardo Saratt by the College Tennis Online. Robertson and Saratt are 12-2, and Milicevic and Nestrud are 10-1 this season.

Because of the bad weather forecast in Jacksonville, Ala., the matches will be played at Samford's indoor facilities in Birmingham instead of on Jacksonville State's home court.

Eastern returns to OVC action against Austin Peay at 10 a.m. Friday in Clarksville, Tenn.
