Golf: Men's team takes a break

Women's also competes at Samford

The men's golf team will play in its second tournament of the spring when they head to Avon, Ind., to compete at the Butler Spring Invitational March 22 through 24.

The Panthers are coming off of a 12th-place finish of 14 teams in the Samford Invitational.

Freshman Gino Parrodi led the team with a three round score of 227 (+11), which was good enough to give him a 32nd-place finish.

Sophomore Francisco Cherizola finished next for the Panthers finishing for a tie for 52nd with a score of 235 (+19).

The women's golf team will play in their first tournament of the spring when they head to Oneonta, Ala., to compete in the Samford Invitational that begins Sunday and runs through Tuesday.

The women's golf team is coming off of an impressive fall season where they won a tournament and finished in second place at three others.

In the women's final tournament of the fall, senior Katie Imburgia captured the individual title in the Dayton Fall Invitational with a two round score of 155.

Senior Carrie Riordan finished in fourth place with an 84 (+15).
