Car crash on Lincoln results in minor injuries
Staff Report
Issue date: 3/13/09 Section: News
A three-vehicle crash resulted in minor injuries on Thursday night on the corner of Fourth Street and Lincoln Avenue, said Captain Todd Foster of the Charleston Fire Department.
"When we arrived, there were three vehicles involved," Foster said. "There was a van on its side - on the driver's side - and two other vehicles involved."
He said three people were stuck in the van that had to be helped out, but there were no major injuries.
"No one was transported to the hospital from any of the vehicles," Foster said.
The Charleston Fire Department, Charleston Police Department, University Police Department and Ambulances responded to the scene.
Foster said he could not give an estimate of when the accident occurred or how long clean-up lasted.
By about 10:20 p.m., the scene was cleared.
Foster said the cause of the accident was unknown.
"We don't have any idea which vehicle was going which direction," he said. "Our priority is taking care of the patients. Make sure everybody's out."
More details will be available in the morning, Foster said.
