Panther Brief: Softball drops three of four games

The Eastern softball team (9-7) went 1-3 at the Kansas Invitational.

Eastern lost to Northern Iowa 9-0 in six innings and North Dakota State 1-0 on Sunday in Lawrence, Kan.

On Saturday, Eastern lost to Kansas 4-2, but defeated North Dakota State 7-6 in eight innings.

Eastern junior centerfielder Angela Danca led the Panthers with a .400 batting average. She also led the team with three RBIs and a triple. Eastern junior shortstop Megan Nelson led the Panthers with three runs.

Eastern sophomore pitcher Amber May picked up the lone victory and had 14 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings.
