"The more opportunity we can give students to see professionals in action, to network with real professionals and to talk to them about the business, the better they are going to be prepared."
Oertling noted the improvisational group Second City and Hudson Vagabond Puppets, both of which came to Charleston to perform for the community as well as workshop and network with students.
Faust understands the pressures of finding your own niche to be able to succeed as an actor.
He said that he encourages actors to branch out and work hard doing things they love.
"I grew up in New Orleans having fun with masks at Mardi Gras and now, have fun with them on the stage," Faust said.
He also said that, after you've done it all, you can begin to figure out how to draw on those experiences.
