Campus Briefs: Challenges to gender traditions in the military

The panel discussion "Women, War and the Nation: Feminist Challenges to Gender Traditions and Militarism in Poland, the Philippines and Britain," will take place at 4 p.m. today in the Arcola/Tuscola Room of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

Panelists will include Prudence Moylan from Loyola University in Chicago, Karen Phoenix from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Amy Schneidhorst from Eastern and Krishna Thomas, also from Eastern.


School of Business brings lecture series speaker Friday

The School of Business will welcome Wendy Perrow, vice president of marketing and alliance management for Alba Therapeutics Corporation, as a featured speaker in the Grace T. Blair Lecture Series.

Perrow's open presentation - "You, Too, Can Be an International Marketer! A Global Adventure!" - will start at 2 p.m. March 6 in Lumpkin Hall Room 2020. Admission is free and open to the public.


Opportunity to purchase textbooks now available

The textbooks issued to students may be purchased during regular business hours from now through March 31 at Textbook Rental Service. Textbook Rental's hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Bring textbooks at time of sale. No other opportunity will be available to purchase books for this term.
