Eastern music ensembles performed pieces by Grammy-winning composer Libby Larsen Tuesday night in Dvorak concert hall. Eight student-written poems were read while the EIU Brass Choir, Wind Symphony, Concert Choir and other performers played and sang impromptu music to reflect the mood of each poem.

The student poetry revolved around the moon, which inspired Larsen because it's a universal symbol that we all can relate to. Larsen worked with Eastern music students and they were able collaborate and make a unique piece of music.
