Basketball: Racers tighten grasp on conference lead
Open up full-game lead over Panthers with 2 games left

Murray State's women's basketball team strengthened their grasp on the top spot in the Ohio Valley Conference with an 82-68 victory over Tennessee Martin Monday night.
The game was a make-up from a Jan. 31 contest, which was postponed because of massive power outages in Murray, Ky., after an ice storm hit Kentucky.
Three Racers scored in double-figures, led by senior guard Paige Guffey who scored 24 points and had nine assists. The OVC's leading scorer, senior guard Ashley Hayes, added 22 points and seven rebounds while senior guard Ashley Guffey chipped in with 17.
The win increased Murray State's lead in the OVC to a full game. The Racers gained a one-half game lead on Eastern last Saturday with an 84-69 overtime victory in Lantz Arena.
Murray State can clinch an outright regular season title with victories in its final two games of the season or a loss by the Panthers in either of their final two regular season games.
With one more win, the Racers would clinch at least a tie in the conference, and would also clinch entering the OVC Tournament as the No. 1 seed by virtue of defeating Eastern in both of the team's meetings this season.
Freshman guard Yalonda Davis led the Skyhawks with 24 points and senior center Phyllisha Mitchell added 21 and 11 rebounds.
The last-place Skyhawks lost their 16th consecutive game.

Hudson, who leads the Ohio Valley Conference by averaging 27.4 points per game entering the contest, shot only 4-for-20 from the field, including 0-for-10 from 3-point range.
The loss knocked the Skyhawks into a first-place tie with Morehead State as both teams are now 12-4 in the OVC. Murray State improved to 11-5 and is in a tie for third with Austin Peay.
Murray State sophomore guard Isacc Miles led the Racers by compiling a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
Freshman forward Ivan Aska led all scorers with 23 points and added 11 rebounds for Murray State.nessee Martin's 11-game winning streak.
