Tennis: Panthers defeat South Dakota State, fall to others

The Eastern's women's tennis team split its weekend matches.

The Panthers (3-5) defeated South Dakota State 7-0 and lost to Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The men's team was in the midst of a three-match winning streak heading into this weekend's matches against Northern Illinois, South Dakota State and Marquette. That winning streak was snapped with a 6-1 loss to Northern Illinois in Rockford.

The Panthers (5-4) rebounded with a 7-0 victory against South Dakota State in Milwaukee. Eastern lost to Marquette 7-0 on Sunday.

The men's team returns to action against Bradley on March 4 in Peoria, while the women's team will play Illinois State on Friday in Normal.
