Campus Briefs: Conference discusses diversity awareness, advocacy

EIUnity will host its first diversity conference Saturday and Sunday in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.
The keynote speaker will be Steve Birdine, a nationally acclaimed speaker, educator and motivator, at the conference, "Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone." The conference is designed to raise diversity awareness and advocacy across campus.
Games and tournaments will be held throughout the conference.
The conference is free, but registration is required.

Pianist performs benefit concert
Pianist James Litzelman will perform a scholarship benefit concert in memory of Professor Alan Aulabaugh at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Dvorak Concert Hall of the Doudna Fine Arts Center.
Aulabaugh taught at Eastern from 1957 until his retirement in 1985, and during which he was awarded both the Outstanding Faculty Member Award and the Distinguished Service Award. Aulabaugh was also a piano soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Alan R. Aulabaugh Music Scholarship.
Admission is $5 and $3 for students.
