Although the three-day weekend will see many students go home, businesses in Charleston and Mattoon will still be celebrating Valentine's Day.

Gateway Liquors will be selling custom-made gift baskets.

The baskets include a bottle of champagne or wine of your choice.

With $5 added onto the price of the alcohol of your choice, the basket will include a small box of chocolates, fake roses and two wine or champagne glasses, along with anything of your own.

"We kind of forget about the guy, you can't put at 12 pack of Keystone in one of these baskets," said Carl Wolff, manager of Gateway.

Mac's Uptowner has not determined their special drinks for the holiday, but owner Kevin McGugan said it will be a great evening for couples, and there is always a lot going on.

Any couples veering away from bars and restaurants can go to J&M Sex Shop in Mattoon or WEA Ink.

"We sell DVD's for $5, and have things marked from $40 down to $20," said Maria Graziano, the owner of J&M.

J&M are selling packages that include samples, lotions and toys.

Although getting pierced or tattooed is not a common way to celebrate Valentine's Day, WEA Ink will be having a special for the weekend.

"We always try to do something for holidays," said Randy Stuff, the owner and head artist of WEA Ink.

WEA will have 20 percent off piercings and tattoos.

Couples who remain traditional with the Valentine's theme that want to drink or eat with their special someone can head to Roc's Blackfront Restaurant and Lounge or Monical's Pizza.

Roc's may not be drowning in pink and red balloons, but they will be handing out carnations to all the female customers.

The owner of Roc's, Mike Knoop, said they will be selling drinks called "Sweet Tart" for the night and its dinner specials include prime rib and fettuccini alfredo with shrimp or chicken.

For a more laid back atmosphere Monical's Pizza will be offering an entire week of a specials, which will be helpful for couples that are leaving over break.
