Campus Briefs: Darwin Day program discusses controversy

In recognition of the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of the "Origin of Species," the Darwin Day Organizing Committee will present "The Clergy Letter Project, the Evolution/Creation Controversy and Why it Matters" at 7 p.m. today in Coleman Hall Auditorium, Room 1255.

Michael Zimmerman, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Butler College, will present the lecture.

The event is free and open to the public.


Grammar workshop teaches to proofread

The Writing Center is hosting "Grammar Check is Evil: How to Proofread and Edit Without the Techno-Crutch" from 3:30 to 4 p.m. today in Room 3110 Coleman Hall.

If interested in attending a workshop, e-mail the writing center staff at eiuwritingcenter@gmail.com. In the e-mail, include the title of the workshop and one's name, major and year in school.
