Panther Briefs: Tennis assistant hired

Eastern tennis coach John Blackburn announced Monday that he has hired Andres Weisskopf as the team's newest graduate assistant coach.
Weisskopf was a four-year member and captain of the Anderson tennis squad, a Division II school. He has coaching experience at the Julian Krinsky School of Tennis, Brookstone Meadows Performance Tennis, and Tennis Europe.
Marion earns honors again
Junior guard T.J. Marion earned Ohio Valley Conference honors yet again.
Marion, a Southeastern Illinois College transfer, earned OVC Newcomer of the Week on Monday. This is the fourth time in six weeks he has been named OVC Newcomer of the Week.
Marion averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals last week. He is averaging 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and four assists a game for the season.
Former Eastern athlete to be inducted
Bob Clifford, a former Eastern baseball player and track athlete, will be inducted into the Springfield Sports Hall of Fame in April.
Clifford will join other members in an induction ceremony and banquet on April 7 at the Crown Plaza.
