Charleston Mayor John Inyart announced he will run for a second term in the city's spring elections.

Inyart cited several of the city's accomplishments during his term as mayor upon his announcement. He includes the economic stability of the city, the full incorporation of the city manager-council form of government and improved internal and external communications with surrounding bodies as some of his term's most noted accomplishments.

"I've made decisions based on what I feel is best for the overall health of our community," he said. "I'd like the opportunity to continue in the role of mayor if it's the desire of the voters."
