Campus Briefs: Payroll unintentionally released early
Issue date: 11/21/08 Section: News
University employees were unintentionally paid on Tuesday because of an error created by a new software the payroll department is using.
"We recently were required to begin using a different type of software to transmit the direct deposits to the bank," said Linda Holloway, assistant director for payroll and benefits. "When the file was released, the program inserted a date into the file. We were not aware this date would be inserted as our files have always contained the release date to be used."

The system issue only affects First Mid Visa debit cards. It does not affect Panther Cards and their purchasing or ATM usage.

The next round of Pack the Place takes place during the Dec. 4 men's basketball game against Tennessee State in Lantz Arena. Sign in for students in residence halls is from 7:15 to 8 p.m.
