A home invasion reported to the Charleston Police Department did not involve any Eastern students, according to a university crime advisory issued Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place in the 1500 block of First Street and involved two suspects, the Charleston Police Department said in a press release.

The residents reported that two masked white males entered their residence at approximately 3:35 a.m. Wednesday.

The two suspects attacked and battered the two residents, police said.

Items were also stolen from the home.

One of the residents claimed to have stabbed one of the suspects in the torso, according to the release.

The suspects were seen leaving the scene in a dark green or black possible Nissan SUV with a broken passenger side rear window, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact the Charleston Police Departments Investigation Unit at 345-8422.
