The Residence Hall Association met Thursday night in Pemberton Hall to discuss attendance of meetings and future plans for campus events and living.
"We are going to start enforcing attendance for future meetings, and taking away voting privileges for those members with poor attendance," said Melissa Liedtke, secretary of RHA.
RHA discussed the Bond Revenue Committee. This committee is comprised of RHA members who are responsible for deciding the room and board rates for the upcoming school year.
Mark Hudson, director of Housing and Dining, said his office needs six or seven RHA members to join the committee.
Also, study abroad representatives talked to RHA increasing student sign-ups for study abroad opportunities.
Another on campus student group that was present at the meeting was The Agency, an on campus student-run public relations firm.
The Agency spoke about its new campaign "Pack The Place."
The Agency's goal is to try and increase student attendance at on campus sporting events. "Pack The Place" will focus specifically on residence hall attendance.
Prizes will be given to the first 200 residences from a dorm that attend the senior game at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 15. They will receive free Eastern athletic bags. The residence hall with the most attendance will get a pizza party for the entire hall.
"We've been talking about 'Pack The Place event,' so stay posted for more information to tell your residences," said RHA president Justin Schuch.
Schuch also reminded members that next week RHA will be going to reservation dining after the meeting and encouraged people to sign up
The next RHA meeting will take place at 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 in Lawson Hall.

What happened to the weekly beat coverage of RHA by the DEN?
I know there has been a designated RHA reporter for the past several years, so why is there not one this semester? And why does it seem like the reporters doing the work are not really trying?
RHA is boring, there's no if, and's or buts about it, but it is still an integral part of the school's student government system and needs to be covered if for no other reason than to be thorough in the coverage of student government as a whole. (Continued…)
