"It's going to be a great show," he said. "I'm like a chef when it comes to comedy."
Sanford is the CEO of MidCoast Entertainment. His company will bring the LaffJam Supershow, starring comedian Talent and feature comedians Deon Cole, K-Dubb, Chastity White and Lil' Rel.
The event is at 8 tonight in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union and is a part of Black Student Reunion weekend. The University Board will sponsor the event, which will also feature DJ V-Dub from radio station 107.5 WGCI.
Sanford said he customizes the needs of the students and organizations for the show.
"I tailor and customize the show for that particular school," he said. "This show is catered specifically for the Black Student Reunion weekend."
Sanford said the campus would be entertained with a variety of comedians coming from New York, Milwaukee, Atlanta and many other places. Talent, who is from New York, is known for his infamous line, "It'z just Coooomedy."
Talent has appeared on HBO's Russell Simmons Def Comedy Jam, BET's Comic View, Fox Uptown Comedy and other shows.
He has also done a nationwide commercial for platinum recording artist, Missy Elliot and did a skit for a multi-platinum Fugee album.
Deon Cole, who is from the south side of Chicago, can be recognized on shows such as BET's Comic View, Jamie Foxx's Laffapalooza and HBO's Def Comedy Jam.
Cole said he wants students to be open-minded and understand that comedy comes in different forms.
"We gonna have a good time," he said.
Cole said his jokes are simple.
"I just observe everything," he said.
Chastity Washington said the show is going to be a blast.
"There is going to be a great deal of fun," she said. "We (are going to) have a ball."
Washington has also been seen on BET Comic View and has produced and directed her own one-woman show "Evening of Expression."
Washington said she is going to talk about every day experiences when she performs.
"I'm gone talk about college experiences, club experiences, work experiences, sorority experiences," she said.
Washington said she loves being on the road with the men of the show.
"I'm like their little sister," she said. "Glad to be working with these brothers."
Kelly "K-Dubb" Walker said he cannot wait for the show.
"I'm a real funny guy," he said. "I'm actually one hell of a scholar."
K-Dubb has been a part of the HBO series "Bad Boys of Comedy" and has sold out shows from Los Angeles to Japan.
K-Dubb said he plans to talk about politics when he is on stage.
"I do quick jokes, and I'm real quick with it," he said. "You are not going to be bored, even if you don't like me."
Lil' Rel, the host of the comedy show tonight, said he wants to leave with a good impression on the students and alumni. "I want them to leave with them knowing I am funny and pretty much for them to enjoy me," he said. "Hopefully, put some smiles on some faces."
Lil' Rel has also been on shows such as BET's Comic View, the Lil' Rel Show and P.Diddy's Bad Boys of Comedy. Lil' Rel said when he goes on college tours there is a lot of excitement. "They have the best energy," he said. "Hopefully, we can get their minds off whatever is going on with classes and whatnot."
Lil Rel' said this is going to be an explosive show.
"If you haven't gotten your tickets, you are going to miss out on the best night of your life," he said.
Sanford said when the comedians go to colleges, the response is good and they cannot wait for them to get back.
"We make sure we have the freshest, young hot comedians that we know will get the job done," he said.
Sanford said MEI knows how to put on a show. "We are the producers of the hottest comedy and musical shows sweeping the college circuits," he said.
