Alyssa Anderson, Homecoming committee member and host of Family Fun Night, was happy with the turn out.

"I didn't know this many Greeks were going to show up," Anderson said. "We had to set up more tables."

Family Fun Night is a Homecoming event thrown every year, which tries to bring entertainment on campus to community members, students and faculty.

The event had many games and activities for the crowd to participate in such as Bingo, Bozo Buckets, bags, and face painting.

To follow with this year's homecoming theme there was a "Dress Like A Rock Star" picture booth.

The booth, run by Anderson, provided "rock star" jewelry, toy microphones and blow-up guitars for people to take a picture with.

The pictures could then be e-mailed to participants.

Also at the event were snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy.

The face painting booth had the children entertained the most.

Anne Lewis, who works in Union General Operations, was one of several who painted children's faces. She painted cat whiskers and panther paws on the children's faces.

"There has been a nice mixture of people from the community, as well as Eastern students," Lewis said.

The biggest event of the night was Bingo.

The committee spent about $1,000 on both child-friendly and adult prizes for the winners.

Prizes ranged from Bratz dolls and footballs for the younger winners, to an iHome and DVD box sets of "Heroes" and "Sex and the City: The Movie" for adult winners.

Diane Pappas, a junior physical education major and member of Tri Sigma, was excited about the different prizes.

Later in the night Pappas was the proud winner of an iHome and taunted the crowd when she said, "I got an iHome, suckers."

Stephanie Ceranec, a junior psychology major and member of Tri Sigma, said Greeks receive credit points for all members that go to the Homecoming events.

The event is also a chance for the Greek community to complete community service projects.

Kara Taylor, a pledge for Alpha Psi Omega, worked the "Dum Dum Pull" table as part of the group's community service hours.

The "Dum Dum Pull" involved people pulling out suckers, and if the stick was color, they received a prize.
