Campus Briefs: Final Latino dance lesson today

The last of three Latino dance lessons will be at 7 p.m. today in the 7th Street Underground of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

The lessons are a part of the Latino Heritage Month celebration, and participants will learn how to perform the Rumba. Everyone is invited to attend.

Singer to visit Eastern Friday

Alumnus and singer/songwriter Charlotte Martin will visit campus with her husband, music producer Ken Andrews at 2 p.m. Friday on the main floor of the Doudna Fine Arts Center.

Martin and Andrews will answer questions regarding the music business, and about current and future trends of the recording industry.

Martin, a graduate of Charleston High School, earned an opera degree from Eastern in 1998. She and Andrews formed Dinosaur Fight Records. Andrews has worked with many artists, including Pete Yorn.

Lincoln exhibit on display during September

An Abraham Lincoln exhibit is on display in September at the Charleston Carnegie Public Library, 712 Sixth St.

"Confronting Democracy's Boundaries: The Lincoln Douglas Debates" can be viewed in Community Meeting Room A during regular library hours. The library is open from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Sundays.
