She isn't panicking though.
Bennett is having her players work on their transition offense before hosting the Panther Tournament this weekend at Lantz Arena.
Eastern (2-2) opens up the Panther Tournament against Western Illinois (1-3) 7 p.m. on Friday.
Transition offense, Bennett said, is working on passing for an attack after a dig. She said the offense has to work at executing out-of-system plays, which is when the setter is pulled out of an offensive system by the ball.
Without the setter frequently in a play, passing is harder because the setter prepares the attack for the hitters.
The offense doesn't have consistency if the sets are out of an offensive scheme.
Junior libero Shaina Boylan said the transition offense starts with her since she gets most of the team's digs.
She has been trying to direct her digs better to help junior setter Lauren Schutte not get out of the offensive play.
"We're working on digs off the net so the setter can get an easier set up," Boylan said.
Another aspect of the match Bennett said she was looking at is adapting to various opponents' defenses.
"One of the things we are working on going into this weekend is running our offense to the opponent's defense," Bennett said. "It's a challenge because the first three weeks they were playing against teammates, and they play the same systems."
Boylan said all aspects of the match have to be done at the same time for Eastern to prevent the opposing team from going on long scoring streaks.
The Panthers experienced this in their two match-losing streak against Houston Baptist and Indiana State.
Chicago State (0-4) plays Eastern at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the tournament concluding with the Panthers' match against Toledo (0-3) at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Panthers won last year's tournament by defeating Loyola of Chicago, Memphis and Indiana State.
Boylan said she is happy Eastern will host the tournament because it will be the first matches the Panthers have played in newly-painted Lantz Arena.
"It is more fun to play at home because of the fans and family attending," Boylan said. "The new court will be fun, but hopefully there will be no sliding."
