ROC Fest, sponsored by RHA, will begin in early September with a theme of "Rockin' Around the World."
ROC Fest was one of the topics discussed at the first RHA meeting of the school year Thursday.
Karla Browning, vice president for diversity and programming, came up with the idea of each residence hall being a different country for ROC Fest.
"The more halls that participate, the better it is," Browning said. "It's something we should try to incorporate throughout the year."
Also at the meeting, RHA representatives from different residence halls spoke briefly about events that went on at each hall during the first week of the semester.
Every hall had a welcome meeting for their first event where most halls offered pizza or ice cream as a means to get to know people.
Lawson Hall had their first hall council meeting on Aug. 26 and now has a full executive board.
Taylor Hall had a welcome back mixer the first weekend also.
Mark Hudson, director of Housing and Services, said the Council on University Planning and Budget is looking for a student from RHA to serve on its committee.
The executive board is also looking to fill its secretary position, and is looking for RHA representatives to fill its six committees, including community service committee and the programming committee.
RHA's next meeting is at 5 p.m. Sept. 11 at Ford Hall.
"RHA is the voice of the students who live on campus," he said.
RHA also announced a retreat for anyone in the residence halls in late September.
The retreat would focus on leadership.
The issue of RHA and homecoming was discussed, too.
Vice President Michael Andrews wants to see more involvement from RHA in homecoming.
"By being active at Homecoming this year we can provide a unified effort," Andrews said.
