Campus Briefs: Building blitz in Mattoon for Habitat

The Coles County Habitat for Humanity is launching its final building blitz of the year.
Volunteers will break ground on its 23rd home at 2 p.m. Sunday at 616 Richmond Ave. in Mattoon.
Volunteers are needed to help at the work site and to provide lunches for the volunteers.
This will be the third house the group builds this year.
The new home will be for a family of four and will be handicap accessible for one of the children.
Meth Coalition hosting fundraiser Saturday
The Coles County Meth Awareness Coalition will host a fundraiser at 7 a.m. Saturday at Charleston's Veterans of Foreign Wars facility, 1821 20th St.
Admission is $5. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice will be served.
Proceeds will benefit the coalition.

Deadline to puchace banquet tickets today
The deadline to purchase tickets for the Latino Heritage Month Banquet is Friday.
The banquet is on Sept. 14. Tickets may be purchased in the Gateway office, 2170 Blair Hall.
Admission is $8 for students and $15 for adults.
The banquet will feature a performance by Hector Silveira y su Orquestra and a DJ.
