Briefs: Bonnstetter's pre-trial scheduled

Associate Athletic Director Mark Bonnstetter's jury pre-trial will begin Sept. 30 at 9 a.m., originally set for July 7.
Bonnstetter, 40, faces residential burglary, criminal trespass to a residence and criminal sexual abuse charges stemming from a Nov. 25, 2006 incident in which he allegedly entered a neighbor's home "knowingly and without authority…with the intent to commit therein a felony."
He pleaded not guilty at a Jan. 22, 2007 preliminary hearing and charges Bonstetter faces are a class 1 felony, a class 4 felony and a class A misdemeanor.
If convicted, Bonnstetter faces up to 15 years in state prison.
A jury trial is currently scheduled to begin Sept. 30.
Art School for students underway
The Summer 2008 Art School for High School Students began Sunday at Eastern.
The camp runs through Saturday.
Students learn four different concentrations in art: pastels, watercolors, cityscapes and sculpture.
Students paid $424 to attend.
This camp was sponsored by the Eastern art department, Eastern School of Continuing Education and the Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs.
High school journalism workshop
Over a dozen high school students will attend a journalism workshop starting on Monday.
Students will learn various skills associated with journalism. These skills are news writing, feature writing, copy editing, meeting deadlines and much more.
The two-week workshop will be held in Buzzard Hall.
