Campus Briefs: The existence of God debated today

Philosophy Forum is hosting a presentation titled "Does God Exist?" at 6 p.m. today in the Lumpkin Hall Auditorium.
Professor Richard Foley from University of Missouri-Columbia will be featured as guest speaker. Foley is working on a philosophy of religion that documents the casual factors that lead people to believe in religions.
Eastern philosophy professor Grant Sterling will also be speaking and intends to argue that the existence of a supernatural being is necessary to explain the existence of the universe.

Buddhism explained in lecture today
Thich Nu Nguyen Thien will give a lecture called "Pureland Buddhism" at 3 p.m. today in the Charleston-Mattoon Room of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.
Thien is a Dharma Master at the Chua An Lac in Indianapolis, a Buddhist center. The Asian Heritage Committee is sponsoring the lecture as part of Asian Heritage Month.
Eastern jazz combos performing at Booth Tuesday
Three jazz combos will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Mary J. Booth Library atrium.
The concert, which is a part of National Library Week, will feature classic jazz compositions and new arrangements by Eastern students.

Opt to return your textbooks early
Students can return textbooks to Textbook Rental any time during the semester. The final deadline to return Spring 2008 textbooks is 3 p.m. May 2.
