Next weekend, children will have the chance to attend an indoor picnic in Thomas Hall.

On March 28-30, RHA will sponsor their annual Kids Weekend event.

This year, RHA is sponsoring a child-friendly game night from 6-11 p.m. on March 28, in the Andrews Hall basement.

On March 29, each residence hall will have a scheduled time to hold activities based on each hall's theme. The indoor picnic will be held at noon on Saturday in Thomas Hall Dining. The family-friendly movie "The Bee Movie" will be playing in Buzzard Hall at 6 p.m.

Ken Schultz will perform in the University Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union on March 29. Schultz juggles, walks a slack rope, rides a unicycle and eats fire.

On March 30 at 10 a.m., a breakfast with a scavenger hunt will take place. The breakfast will be served in the Seventh Street Underground of the Union.

"Anyone who lives on campus and has friends or family members who are little kids can attend," said Jenny Kaplan, RHA member and senior biology major.

Also at the meeting, it was announced the Scholastic Bowl Club is sponsoring a Knowledge Bowl on Tuesday in Coleman Hall. The event will take place from 7-10 p.m. The University Board sponsors the event and there will be around $150 in prizes available for winners.

RHA/NRHH banquet will take place April 23 in the Grand Ballroom of the Union at 5 p.m.

"We will have a formal dinner to give out awards such as Scholarship Leaders, Highest Hall GPA, Council Awards and Program of the Year," said Hannah Plevka, RHA secretary and junior journalism major.

For the Illinois Residence Hall Association, the next retreat will be held April 11-13.

Brittany Kraft, a sophomore mathematics major, wanted to hold the event at Eastern.

Kraft, the National Communication Coordinator/Illinois Communication Coordinator, said Eastern would not be sponsoring the event because of a lack of interest.

An emergency election will be conducted at next week's RHA meeting.

Ashley Hoogstraten, vice president for diversity and programming for RHA, was going to take this same position next semester but found that it was not allowed.

RHA took nominations for the position at the meeting and an election will be conducted at next week's meeting.

The next meeting will be in Carman Hall on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Additional RHA information:

Rollerthon '08 took place Thursday night. Cars went to the roller rink from Andrews at 6:30 p.m. It was sponsored by NRHH and T-shirts were made available to participants.

Weller Hall is planning a soap opera night sometime in the near future.

Carman Hall is having a casino night on March 28.
