Eastern's women's basketball team dropped its regular season opener 86-56 against the University of Illinois Friday night at Lantz Arena.

The teams played in front of a record-setting 2,358 fans.

Eastern sophomore guard Jessica Huffman led all players with 24 points, and the Illini were led by Lori Bjork's 22 points and Jenna Smith's double-double (16 points, 19 rebounds).
