Michelle, Alicia and Nicole Wroblewski were already biological sisters, but when they all joined Alpha Phi sorority, they found themselves sharing another type of sisterhood bond.

Michelle, the oldest of five sisters, was the first to join Eastern's chapter of Alpha Phi and her younger sister, Alicia, an Eastern graduate of 2005, decided to follow in her footsteps.

"I went in with an open mind, and thought I fit in perfectly with Alpha Phi," Alicia said. "You have to go (through recruitment) with an open mind because even though you're sisters, you might have different preferences."

The next year, another Wroblewski joined the sorority. Nicole, 18 months younger than Alicia, joined Alpha Phi as a freshman, and Michelle was already graduated and student teaching in the area.

Alicia and Nicole both think a lot of the ideals and morals Alpha Phi is founded upon was part of what made them join.

"Alpha Phi believes in friendship and loyalty and all the ideals and characteristics of a true woman," Nicole said. "Our philanthropy is cardiac care, which is coincidental because Alicia, when she was in college, developed a rare type of heart disease so it feels good when we're doing a philanthropy event. It makes me feel good to go out there giving all this time and money and effort to cardiac care to foundation because we can relate to it as a whole."

At one point in time, all three sisters held executive positions in the chapter.

"Michelle was our adviser, I was the chapter president, and Nicole was the vice president," Alicia said. "We never butt heads and we took leadership roles and stepped it up and got the job done."

Nicole and Alicia agree that belonging to a sorority has created a better bond between them as well as creating a bond within their chapter.

"I will always look back on my sorority experience with my sisters and be happy," Alicia said. "It was just so exciting doing things together and having that time."
