The Eastern men's basketball team ended its season with a 57-54 loss at Austin Peay Tuesday in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Eastern senior forward Rachel Galligan earned First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors for the third straight year as the teams were announced by the league Thursday. The All-OVC teams are voted on by the league's head basketball coaches and sports information directors. (0) comments
Freshmen Drew Grimaldi, Jamie Firth, and Matyas Hilgert all came to Eastern from programs outside of Illinois. Grimaldi comes from Heritage High School in Saginaw, Mich., while Firth and Hilgert are originally from Australia and the Czech Republic, respectively. (0) comments

The Eastern women's basketball team defeated top-seeded Southeast Missouri in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament last season.
