The Eastern men's basketball team ended its season with a 57-54 loss at Austin Peay Tuesday in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The Eastern baseball team travels to Louisville, Ky., this weekend for the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Louisville. Newcomers should add to the tennis lineup

Freshmen Drew Grimaldi, Jamie Firth, and Matyas Hilgert all came to Eastern from programs outside of Illinois. Grimaldi comes from Heritage High School in Saginaw, Mich., while Firth and Hilgert are originally from Australia and the Czech Republic, respectively. (0) comments

Anything is possible in a conference basketball tournament. The Eastern women's basketball team defeated top-seeded Southeast Missouri in the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament last season. The Eastern men's basketball team won the conference tournament in 2001 on a goal-tending call. (0) comments

Track: Last chance fires up Holm, team

Eastern senior David Holm is not nervous, nor is any other member of the Eastern men's and women's track and field teams. "We know we can compete with anyone in the nation," Holm said.
