When I came to UIC my good friend, Vijay Kamaraj, showed me the New Maxwell Street Market on 548 West Roosevelt Road. The market reminded me of the shows in Travel Channel where street markets are commonplace at exotic locales like Thailand. For students living in the dorms on the weekends, the street market could be a welcoming change of pace.

Imagine not being able to go out to eat at 45 East on a Friday or stop for Bagel and Deli after an exciting night uptown. When you study abroad, many things you're used to at Miami University aren't around, like being able to go out to eat at night because restaurants close early.

Although not official UIC Athletic teams, UIC is home to many intramural sports clubs that still boast sportsmanship and even extensive competition. Not only within its members but also among sports clubs at other schools. The Men's Rugby Club at UIC is one such group.

Now well into November, it's not news that Lincoln Hall has been renovated, but on Nov. 19th students and faculty will have an opportunity to attend the Grand Re-Opening Ceremony for Lincoln Hall. A guided tour of everything new that Lincoln now has to offer to the campus will be given with the ceremony starting at 4pm.

But, for some, you know the practical decision would be to become a doctor, like your parents want you to.
