When J.D. Miller graduated from ISU on Oct. 16, he knew it was a big deal.
He found out Wednesday that other people think it's a big deal, too.
At the Bayh College of Education, many of Miller's friends and family members joined him for a graduation party.

A memorial service for the late Jacqueline Moore is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Lantz Arena. Moore died late Wednesday at the age of 28 after collapsing while working out. Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers confirmed that Moore died at 9:44 p.m. Wednesday after being rushed to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center.

Jacqueline Moore, Eastern women's basketball assistant coach, died late Wednesday night.
Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers confirmed at 12:05 a.m. Thursday that Moore, who was entering her third season with the team, collapsed while working out and died.
Schniers could not give any additional information about her death, but said an autopsy would be performed Thursday in Springfield to determine the cause of death.

Effective this semester, all fliers posted on campus will need approval by the Office of Campus Scheduling. This new policy is part of the revisions of the Internal Governing Policy, which was approved by President Bill Perry Sept. 28. "There are at least 50 posting locations throughout campus, and frequently they become a mess with 'postings on top of postings,' as well as outdated and incomplete information," said Dan Nadler, vice president for student affairs.

Nine contestants from Indiana State University went head-to-head in the nail-biting competition of Miss ISU 2010 Sunday night in University Hall auditorium.
Taylor Schaffer, junior communication major, walked away as the new Miss ISU. She will go on to compete at the state level.

The old cliché goes that if a person is given a short timeframe of how much longer he or she has to live, that person will change how he or she lives.
ISU alumnus J.D. Miller does not follow that saying.
For his entire life, Miller has only wanted to be a teacher, and he did not give up that dream even when he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma last year or even when given six weeks to live about six weeks ago.
