Six months ago Thrice released the first half of their experimental concept album called "The Alchemy Index."
Volumes I and II of the Alchemy Index, Fire and Water, came out on October 16, 2007.
Each disc of this project is representative of the element of the Earth.

Growing up in the suburbs can extremely narrow a person's worldview. I grew up in Naperville, a ritzy, predominantly white town. Most of my classmates were white throughout grade and high school, and they did not have much interaction with diverse groups. These same classmates would repeatedly spout racist jokes concerning crime and intelligence and laugh uncontrollably.

Another person has joined the list of lawsuits related to a May 30 double-decker bus accident that resulted in two deaths. Eastern student Michael McKenna filed a lawsuit Tuesday against Lincoln Springs Resort, the Graywood Foundation and others, seeking damages for the accident.

The British came to DePauw Wednesday night. They weren't opposing independence - just the legalization of marijuana. DePauw's Debate Society took on the British National Debate team at the public debate in Watson Forum. DePauw senior Aaron Dicker and junior Kevin Milne supported the resolution to legalize marijuana.

Jake Brereton's Nov. 17 article on the elusive nature of global warming provides a troubling example of the elusive nature of the public understanding of not only climate change, but science in general. Whether 57 percent, 77 percent, or even if 99 percent of the public believed climate change due to human influences is or isn't happening isn't relevant; what is relevant is the scientific evidence.

Voting is a right that many people do not take advantage of. More than 40% of American citizens do not vote. This means that only a small portion of our population decides the leaders of our country.
"There are varies reasons why people do not vote," said Andrew McNitt, a Political Science professor at Eastern, "A major factor is how important the election is.

Golden Era of Geography, is it or is it not? That was the question addressed by Eastern alum Andrew Baker during his lecture for Geography Awareness Week on Thursday in the Physical Science Building. Baker believes we are living in the golden era of geography because of all of our technological advances that allow us to graph better maps and ultimately learn more about people.
